Businesses in Pasadena without valid business licenses will have through Jan. 10 to register and pay fees in full without penalty or interest.
In addition, outstanding civil citations issued by the Business License Division of the Pasadena Finance Department will be waived during this amnesty period.
Approved by the city council in September, the business license amnesty program is an incentive for business owners to register their businesses voluntarily while providing new revenue to the city for necessary services to Pasadena residents.
It is estimated that about eight percent, or 1,300 businesses, are operating in Pasadena without current licenses, despite collection efforts.
Once the 90-day amnesty period is over, all fees will be due and no future waivers will be granted.
Business owners may register and pay fees in person in room N106 at Pasadena City Hall , 100 N. Garfield Ave. ; at www.cityofpasadena.net/finance; by e-mailing pasadenaamnesty@cityofpasadena.net; or by calling (626) 744-7019.
