93rd ROSE QUEEN^® TO BE ANNOUNCED OCTOBER 19

AT PASADENA CIVIC AUDITORIUM

One Young Woman Will Receive the Coveted Honor of Reigning Over

The 2011 Rose Parade® and Rose Bowl Game^®

WHAT:             

Opportunity to catch a first glimpse of the 2011 Rose Queen as she learns of her new royal title at Tournament House.  Before reigning over the 122nd Rose Parade® presented by Honda and 97th Rose Bowl Game® on January 1, 2011, the 93rd Rose Queen and her Royal Court will make more than 150 media and community appearances.

The Rose Diaries, the Tournament of Roses behind-the-scenes blog, will document the lives of the Rose Queen and her Royal Court leading up to the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game and feature the following:     

•           the Royal Court receiving their new wardrobes, hair and cosmetics makeovers and modeling training;

•           select community events; and  

•           the Rose Queen and her Royal Court on New Year’s Day.

WHO:              

After a month-long selection process involving more than 1,000 Pasadena-area hopefuls, one young woman from the recently appointed Royal Court of seven will be named Rose Queen.

Media can park in the Civic Auditorium parking structure (entrance off Euclid or off Marengo, both north of Cordova).  Validation will be provided for media.
