Wednesday, Oct. 6

* 7:30 a.m. – Walk around the Rose Bowl Loop with Mayor Bill Bogaard and special guests. http://bit.ly/aagAvk

* 1 p.m. – Come to the ribbon-cutting and tour at the long-awaited Pasadena Urgent Care Center .  http://bit.ly/cT0m7b

* 1 p.m. – This week’s film in the Donald R. Wright Auditorium at Pasadena Central Library, 285 E. Walnut St ., is “Sherlock Holmes” (2009, PG-13) starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.  (626) 744-4066.

* 2 to 6 p.m. – If you’ve never been in the Villa-Parke Branch Library, or even if you have, you’re invited to an open house where you’ll meet staff, discover new materials and enjoy live entertainment.  (626) 744-6510.  363 E. Villa St .

* All Day – Take a photo or shoot some video at Pasadena Central Library or any of the nine branch libraries, then upload it to www.cityofpasadena.net/library.picture_this.  You can also submit personal comments and stories about your library experiences. 

Thursday, Oct. 7

6:30 p.m. – Pasadena Water and Power’s workshop “Native Nights: The Pleasures of Going Native” in the Donald R. Friday, Oct. 8

6 to 10 p.m. – ArtNight Pasadena will have something for everyone – including free shuttles – when 14 arts and cultural institutions open their doors for free!  It’s the prelude to Pasadena ArtWeekend. http://bit.ly/bdhVgh

CITY COUNCIL

The Pasadena City Council will meet Monday, Oct. 4, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber (S249) atPasadena City Hall , 100 N. Garfield Ave.  

Items of note:  workshop on the Rose Bowl Renovation project.

COMMISSIONS, COMMITTEES AND BOARDS

The City Council Finance Committee will meet Monday, Oct. 4, at 3 p.m. in the Council Chamber (S249) at Pasadena City Hall , 100 N. Garfield Ave.   Agenda items include the Rose Bowl Stadium renovation project.

The Open Space and Conservation Element Committee will meet Monday, Oct. 4, at 6:30 p.m. in the Grand Conference Room (basement room S038) at Pasadena City Hall .  Agenda items include additional materials regarding Residential Impact Fee.

The Oct. 4 meeting of the City Council Public Safety Committee has been canceled.

The Accessibility and Disability Committee will meet Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 3 p.m. in the Grand Conference Room at Pasadena City Hall .  Agenda items include Rose Bowl Stadium accessibility enhancements; presentation on state budget and disability services by Kristi Lopez of Assemblyman Anthony Portantino’s office; presentation on accessibility as a factor in city redevelopment projects; report on General Plan community workshop; and report on new ADA accessibility standards.

The Recreation and Parks Commission will meet Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 6 p.m. at the Pasadena Senior Center , 85 E. Holly St .  Agenda items include park inspection forms.

The Human Relations Commission will meet Tuesday, Oct. 5, 6:30 p.m. at Jackie Robinson Center .  Agenda items include update on commission forum series; Rekindling the Light of Peace concert in Jan. 2011; and 2011 essay contest.

The Pasadena Community Access Corporation Board of Directors will meet Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 7:30 p.m. at the KPAS Studio, 2061 N. Los Robles Ave., Suite 105 .  Agenda items include City of Pasadena contract status; draft annual report; draft Arroyo Channel rules and regulations; draft channel programming support for citizen journalism discussion; draft amended bylaws; and Pasadena cable service provider public/education/government access plans;.

The City Council Economic Development and Technology Committee (EdTech) will meet Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Conference Room (S246) at Pasadena City Hall .  Agenda items include receipt and filing of annual reports from the Fair Oaks Project Area Committee and the Lincoln Avenue Project Area Committee; update on survey of city-owned properties; update on extension of Ordinance 7180; update on economic development strategy; and update on federal funding connections for small businesses.

The Code Enforcement Commission will meet Thursday, Oct. 7, at 4 p.m. in the Hearing Room at the Permit Center , 175 N. Garfield Ave.   Agenda items include nuisance dogs at 1315 Hastings Ranch Rd. ; overgrown vegetation at 1690 San Pasqual St . ; debris, overgrown vegetation and dilapidated garage at 1034 N. Hudson Ave. ; construction without a permit at 1114 Worcester Ave. ; failure to obtain certificate of occupancy at 1553 Navarro Ave.; inadequate security of vacant building, overgrown vegetation, gross lack of maintenance of grounds and accumulation of junk, trash and debris at 840 N. Euclid Ave.; construction without required building permits at 162 N. Parkwood Ave.; construction without proper building permits at 1874 Monte Vista Ave.; construction without proper building permits at 1470 N. Marengo Ave.; room addition without proper permits and approvals at 1735 N. Madison Ave.; and incomplete construction at 1633 E. Walnut St.
